Rob’s 30-year anniversary reel is the accumulation of years of experience. He decided to build this legacy reel with the utmost precision using materials and processes that go way beyond the norm.

Materials such as multilayer, unidirectional carbon fiber were chosen for their exceptional strength and durability. Rob contracted with the manufacturer to be the only source for this very special ultra-strong carbon fiber. No two reels will be the same because of the unique patterns and color of the carbon fiber. Note that the crank handle arm is not carbon fiber; it is made from high strength aluminum alloy.

Titanium is also a major part of this anniversary reel. The spool shaft, the rotor hub, line roller, and spool top ring are all made from 6AL-4V grade 5 Titanium. The spool shaft is coated with a diamond-like coating (DLC) for enhanced durability.

The ceramic bearings and drag system contribute to smooth running action, lightweight performance, and effective heat dissipation during hard drag runs. The aluminum used in this reel is all high-grade aerospace material, specially processed and anodized to a beautiful gold luster.

Special serial numbers and logos will identify these very special reels. Only 50 will be built! The serial numbers will range from 1 to 50, with (25) No. 7AV and (25) No. 8AV reels being produced.

This is an investment, not only in a magnificent reel to use, but a long-term investment, given Rob’s history. Included will be a special signature card, signed by Rob.
